How to Copy Home Videos to a CD

    • 1). Plug the USB data cable into the USB port on your video camera (unless the video footage is saved onto a mini DVD). Plug the opposite end of the cable into a USB port on the computer. If using a mini DVD, remove the disc from the video camera and insert it into the disc drive of the computer.

    • 2). Power on the video camera and set it to "Playback" mode.

    • 3). Click "Start," "(My) Computer" and double-click the removable device icon (or the DVD icon). A window appears with all the video files store on the camera or DVD.

    • 4). Click-and-drag the video files from the removable device onto the computer desktop.

    • 5). Insert the blank CD into the CD burner and close out any AutoPlay prompt windows that appear. Double-click the CD icon in (My) Computer.

    • 6). Click-and-drag the video files into the open CD window, then close the window and right-click the CD icon. Choose "Properties" from the pull-down menu, then click "Recording." Select "OK" and the home video files are burned onto the blank CD.
