Preparing to send your child to school is never financially easy. There are a lot of things to think about, like supplies, tuition fees, school allowance and many more. So if you are planning to send your child to a day care, you might want to think about doing some financial planning early.

Here are some tips for new parents to save on daycare.

1. Children in day care will need a lot of school supplies for all their drawings and their art works. Though the school may provide it, it is still important that you have some supplies in your home in case your child needs to bring something to school. Buy items in bulk to get them at better prices, and you won't run out of supplies easily so there'll be fewer trips to the stores.

2. Some daycares have food for snack time but they are usually charged along with the tuition fee and sometimes it comes out as a tab and you'll just be surprised to how big your bill is as soon as you receive it. To avoid this, prepare some food for your child to bring in school. That way, in case they get hungry, they can eat anytime because they have their own snacks with them and you won't end up with a large bill in the end.

3. If you are close with the kids' parents, why not talk them into having a €rotation snack€ every now and then? It's a good way to bond with them and your child will be able to interact with others as well.

4. Most parents bring their child to the daycare by driving them there. And of course, as we all know, gas does not come cheap, as well as the maintenance for the car itself. You can ask some of the parents to carpool your child if it's along the way, you can even take turns in doing so. That way, you can save a bit on the transportation expense and at the same time, you can let your child enjoy going to school with their friends. You can also ask the daycare if they have school buses available and maybe then you can sign your child up.

5. Field trips are often part of a daycare center's itinerary and of course, it comes with a fee. If you know a good place where the kids can learn for free, share it to the teachers so that you won't have to spend a lot for the trips. You'll save a lot while at the same time, you'll have the kids enjoying and learning from the trip.

Some parents use their credit to pay for their child's tuition fee, there is actually nothing wrong it but just don't forget to pay for your credit bills at the end of every month. Don't skip on it otherwise you'll end up hurting your credit score report and your credit report.
