Underwater Vinyl Pool Repair
- 1). Turn off the pool equipment.
- 2). Put on a pair of swimming goggles. Dive to the torn area of the vinyl pool liner. Clean the damaged area thoroughly with a scrub brush.
- 3). Cut a piece of repair material -- included with an underwater repair kit -- slightly larger than the size of the damaged section of the liner with a pair of scissors. Radius cut all four corners of the repair patch after it is cut to size.
- 4). Apply a light coat of vinyl adhesive to one side of the vinyl patch material. Fold the patch in half with the adhesive coated side inside the fold. Dive to the damaged area of the vinyl pool liner.
- 5). Pull apart the folded patch. Push the adhesive coated side of the patch on the vinyl liner, ensuring the damaged area sits in the center of the patch. Run one hand over the patch until no air bubbles sit between the patch and the vinyl pool liner.
- 6). Don't turn on the pool equipment until the patch has cured for at least two days.
