Sunday Morning Country Starring Brenda Lee
There are never enough good things to say about Sunday Morning Country. This is the one time out of the year that country music fans need a place to go to church on Sunday, and this is where they find it. No one here preaches religion down your throat or spends half the day telling you that you're not living right. It's simply about coming together and singing the gospel songs that we all love.
Throughout the show, artists from the country music scene and gospel genre come together and put on the show of a lifetime.
Brenda Lee hosted this special event this year and her guests consisted of Johnny Counterfit, Roni Stoneman, Charlie Louvin, Casey Rivers, Melanie Walker, Aaron Tippin, Billy Dean and many more. It's impossible to explain how much joy this show brings to the audience, but it also will let you hear some of the things that the artists have went though as they tell their testimonies. Once they start talking about the different things that life has thrown in their way, it proves that they are human. Some are sad, but many of the stories will have you laughing until your stomach hurts.
Grand Ole Opry star Stu Phillips described his cancer battle and how he was afraid he would never sing again, but after many prayers and strong faith, he is back to singing on the Opry.
Johnny Counterfit came out and did an awesome comedy skit, and finished it all up by doing his interpretation of Archie and Edith Bunker. The crowd was eating his performance up. Johnny is a one of a kind star, so when you get to see him perform live, you're in for a treat.
Ricky Skaggs joined The Whites on their tune "Big Wheel," and Casey Rivers performed "How Great Thou Art."
Aaron Tippin performed "He Believed," which is also the title track to his new album that's for sale at Cracker Barrell.
Billy Dean had the crowd in the palm of his hand when he sang his smash hit "Let Them Be Little." Towards the end of the show, they honored the songs of The Louvin Brothers. Charlie was in the audience decked out in a strapping, red shirt, and a grin across his face.
The last tune that was performed at this years Sunday Morning Country was "I saw The Light." Everyone on the roster participated in this tune. This show is perfect for anyone, young or old. Make sure when you are in Nashville for the CMA Music Festival that you check it out.
