Possession Limits and Size Restrictions

• According to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the village of Schaumburg is located in Region II, which allows all pure muskies or hybrid tiger muskies over 36 inches to be taken from Schaumburg waters. Only one muskie or tiger muskie can be retained each day. • Located in neighboring DuPage County, Mallard Lake is recommended by the website IllinoisMuskies for muskie fishing near Schaumburg. It is 85 acres in size and the newest public muskie lake in the state. Mallard Lake allows electric motors only.
  
  

Fox Chain O' Lakes and Sterling Lake

• With 7,110 acres of muskie fishing and numerous public boat launches, Fox Chain O'Lakes is located in neighboring Lake County, and includes eight lakes: Fox, Pistakee, Catherine, Channel, Marie, Bluff, Grass and Nippersink Lakes. Limited to electric motors, Sterling Lake is also located in neighboring Lake County and provides 73 acres of muskie fishing.
