- 1). Draft the quitclaim deed. The quitclaim deed should contain a legal description of the property, as well as the full names and addresses of the person transferring the property and the person to whom the property is being transferred. The quitclaim deed must also identify the person who drafted it.
- 2). Sign the deed before witnesses and have the deed notarized. Florida law requires a notary seal and signature on every quitclaim deed and also requires that two witnesses sign the deed.
- 3). Take the deed to the county recorder in the county in which the property is located and pay the fees. The fees will vary depending on the county. Once you pay the fee, the county recorder will process the deed and enter it in the register.
