How to Steam Vegetables in a Rice Cooker
- 1). Fill the rice cooker with the appropriate amount of water. See the Resource section for a guide to the amount of water needed for your vegetables.
- 2). Place the steam basket inside the rice cooker pan.
- 3). Add the vegetables into the basket.
- 4). Add any seasonings to the vegetables. Seasonings such as teriyaki sauce, salt and pepper will flavor the vegetables well.
- 5). Cover the rice cooker with a lid. Plug the cord into the wall, and make sure that you turn the cooker on to the "Cook" setting.
- 6). Set your timer to steam the vegetables. See the Resource section for timing guidelines.
- 7). Turn the rice cooker off once the vegetables finish steaming. Remove the vegetables and place them into a serving container to keep them from overcooking.
