How to Fix a Divot

    • 1). Scoop or pour a growth mixture into the divot. Some courses will provide a sand or seed mixture in your cart or at each tee box. If so, you should add it to your divot and step on it with your foot. This should help the grass grow back faster.

    • 2). Retrieve the clump of dirt you took from the ground. Some courses do not provide a mixture for divots. If this is the case, you will need to use the original grass. If you cannot find your clump of grass, try to use another piece that may have been left by someone else.

    • 3). Place the clump of grass back into the patch of dirt and lightly step on it with your foot.
