How to Craft With an Ocean Theme
- 1). Wrap a wide, cream or blue grosgrain ribbon around a 12-inch Styrofoam wreath base, overlapping the edges. Secure the ends of the ribbon to the wreath using a few dabs of tacky glue.
- 2). Begin gluing your collection's largest seashells to the front of the wreath first. Apply hot glue to the bottoms of various-shaped shells and press them onto the wreath. Vary the direction of the shells for an eclectic look.
- 3). Fill in any gaps between the large shells with smaller shells. Glue a few starfish or sand dollars to the top of the seashells at random locations around the wreath as focal points.
- 4). Loop a length of ribbon through the top of the wreath for hanging.
- 1). Use a paintbrush to apply craft glue to the backs of the four largest seashells, such as scallop shells, in your collection. Press the four shells onto the corners of a white-painted or natural wood mirror frame.
- 2). Brush glue onto the backs of smaller seashells and apply them all around the perimeter of the frame, completely covering it. Use all white or sand-colored seashells to create an elegant, sun-washed look.
- 3). Glue shells featuring more eye-catching shapes, such as spirals and cones, in more prominent areas of the frame as showpieces.
