Uri Geller is known the world over for bending spoons, reading minds, fixing broken watches and many other feats, including causing debate amongst skeptics and believers. Is it really possible to bend spoons, locate hidden objects & much more without trickery? Is ESP real? Well it has recently come to light that the US government believes so.
Thanks to the declassification of previously classified documents & recordings relating to US government research into ESP, we can all see the results of the testing that the CIA performed on Uri Geller at Stanford Research Institute (SRI). If you are interested in the power of the mind, I recommend that you view this video evidence, as it is quite startling!
As much as certain skeptics may wish it was - this testing was not an amateur job done in someone's lounge, it was a scientific investigation under strict laboratory controlled conditions at the very highest level, at Stanford Research Institute in the USA, carried out by some of America's most esteemed scientists, including Russell Targ multiple NASA award winning pioneering physicist involved in the development of the laser! Dr. Harold (Hal) Puthoff, also a very well known physicist, who holds patents concerning beam devices and tunable lasers, co-author of the acclaimed book "Fundamentals of Quantum Electronics" ex Navy officer & later assigned to the NSA, andDr Edgar Mitchell, Apollo 14 Astronaut and 6th man to walk on the moon, awarded the medal of freedom by President Richard Nixon!
When I say that the results of this testing is startling, I am not exaggerating as you will see when you watch the video's below. In one of the tests, Geller consistently found hidden minerals and objects sealed in cans, and he did this at odds the scientists calculated to be a trillion to one! If you had been led to believe Geller is nothing but a clever trickster, then you may begin to think differently about that, you might also start to see that there is a reason that some would like you to think that, in fact there is some circumstantial evidence to suggest that Geller himself doesn't really want the world to know what he's actually capable of. If he did, after seeing these video tapes I am of the assumption that he would have demonstrated far more ground breaking & controversial abilities than bending spoons. I have come to the conclusion that Geller is quite happy for people to see him merely as an entertainer, the perfect cover for a psychic spy!
What have the skeptics made of this video evidence? It's actually quite laughable, according to certain skeptics, Geller was able to perform these amazing feats due to there being a hole in a wall of the shielded experiment room...... So, a scientific investigation ordered by the CIA, involving NASA award winning physicists, people involved in developing the laser, ex Navy, NSA & NASA scientists and officers, after weeks and weeks of solid testing in a laboratory controlled environment, were tricked into believing that Uri Geller had paranormal abilities, due to there being a hole in a wall through which he could peek? While some skeptics are quick to make statements such as this without a scrap of evidence, thankfully there are others who prefer to research the facts, and the facts actually proved quite embarrassing for the skeptic. 1: The hole was much smaller than described, and was not actually a "hole" but a cable pass-through with a plate cover. 2: The thickness of the wall that the hole passed through meant there was very little scope for vision. 3:The hole was actually covered by a plate during the experiments. 4: As the scientists were aware of this covered hole and wanted to be sure nothing could be somehow pushed through it along with the cables, this plate was under observation at all times. 5: The targets for the viewing experiments were presented on a different wall to the one containing the covered cable pass-through. 6: The funniest of all, is that the hole was only just above ground level! The skeptic who suggests that Geller was able to peek through this hole in order to cheat, despite not believing Geller's ability to bend metal, obviously has great belief in Geller's ability to bend his field of vision, to go down to the floor, under a plate, through a cable pass-through, back up to where the images were, not to mention the need to somehow see through an envelope within an envelope!
Other suggestions are just as baffling, and it just goes to show that no matter what the evidence, and no matter who's saying it, even if it's prominent award winning scientists, there are those who will simply not accept the possibility that there is more to the mind than meets the eye. In fact it does appear that there are those who will say absolutely anything to deny the validity of such evidence, even if what they are saying is completely nonfactual and/or nonsensical.
One of the things some skeptics have complained about is that there was no magician present in order to rule out magicians tricks - for me this again shows the straws some skeptics will clutch at to hold onto their convictions. Magicians are mostly about preparation, setup, props and planning. Magicians cannot just walk into a room and amaze audiences with objects that they have not previously been in contact with. A stage magician uses props that have been specially created or modified for the illusion. The tests with Geller were under laboratory controlled conditions and carried out by top US scientists, Geller had no previous contact with the laboratory or any of the materials and objects that he would be asked to affect. However, even this random suggestion can be put to bed, as there was in fact a magician present, Russell Targ is an amateur magician, if Geller was indeed using trickery then Targ would have been able to identify it a mile off in such an environment over which Geller had no control.
During the experiments Geller bent metal rings including thick copper and brass rings that were manufactured by SRI, which required 150 lbs force to bend them. Speak to any body builder, and you will learn that exerting a force equal to 150lbs on a small ring, would be some feat even for a muscle bound body builder, as it would be a thumb and finger pinch which means that only a small part of the available hand and forearm muscle strength can be used to apply the pressure. The average male has a maximum whole fist squeeze using the entire fist & the full power of the forearm, of 112 pounds, yet Geller needed to exert 150 pounds to bend these small rings just with his thumb & finger. No offense intended to Mr Geller, but I very much doubt that a young slender Uri Geller had the amount of power required to bend these rings physically (and one you will see is bent into the figure of 8) and even if he did, is it practical to expect him to be able to do this without great effort thus making it very obvious how the rings were bent?
So how about the demonstrations of being able to know what is drawn on a piece of paper within an envelope? Given that some of these tests that he succeeded in were double blind - meaning no-one knew what the drawings were among the experimenters - Geller would literally need to have X-ray vision in order to have cheated them! Geller also correctly discerned hidden images from a computer! So that rules out X-ray vision - these were computer generated images created in various ways that nobody in the room was privy to. An accomplishment more amazing than just ordinary extra sensory perception.
Geller changes the weight of a metal object on a scale which is held within a metal cylinder and then covered in a glass cylinder. All manner of other activities could not produce the same effects, even by kicking the table & jumping up & down, so how could this be possible by any normal means?
You can clearly see that he significantly affects a magnetometer, yet the magnetometer was first used to sweep his entire person to ensure that he was not concealing a magnet.
He moves a compass needle a noticeable amount, and to dispel the skeptics cries that he's using a magnet (some have suggested that Geller has a magnetic removable thumb tip.......) the scientists scanned his entire body with the magnetometer first to ensure that he did not posses a magnet!
Geller consistently correctly guessed the uppermost face of a single die shaken in a closed box, how could this be possible with a box and die that Geller was not able to manipulate beforehand? This would be analogous to a magician walking into a room he's never been in, picking up a hat he has not previously been able to modify & prep, and pull out a fluffy white bunny rabbit.
Perhaps one of the most amazing feats however is his ability to locate hidden materials, minerals & objects from sealed metal containers. He did this consistently, not just once or twice.
So if we listen to some skeptics we must then believe that Uri Geller has super human strength, the ability to bend his eyes and / or Xray vision, and still this wouldn't explain many of the test results.
The story doesn't end here, however!
You've heard of the movie "The Men Who Stare at Goats" ? Were you aware that George Clooney's character is in fact based on Uri Geller? The movie was based on a book by Jon Ronson investigating paranormal research conducted by the US government in which Geller eluded to having been reactivated by a mysterious character named Ron, after the 9.11 attack in New York.
The film adaptation of the men who stare at goats is a comedy, however the events & characters that it's based on appears to be no laughing matter and appear to have been going on well into the 1990's, and for all we know are still going on right now.
For example, when asked how successful were the US's secret remote viewing missions from the 70' up until 1995, Dr. Hal Puthoff recently replied:
"Very. 95% still classified. Joe McMoneagle (one of the INSCOM - United States Army Intelligence and Security Command - [remote] viewers) received a Legion of Merit Award for the execution of more than 200 missions, addressing over 150 essential elements of information (EEI), done for Joint Chiefs of Staff, DIA, NSA, CIA, and the Secret Service, for "producing crucial and vital intelligence unavailable from any other source."
So what is the truth about Uri Geller, what do the CIA experiments that span almost four decades mean, what did the CIA want with Geller that prompted them to get SRI to test him? Perhaps we will never know the true answers to these questions and the other dozens of questions that people ask once they see this video footage & realize just what Uri Geller appears to be capable of. Or could it be that Geller's unique skills have now been recruited to solve difficult political and humanitarian problems? Geller's US/Russian well publicized nuclear arms reduction influence is well documented, so is Geller's efforts help to get both the Israeli Magen David Adom (Israel's red cross) and the Palestine Red Crescent into the international Red Cross organization.
