Reduce Cellulite - Cut Down On Salt

103 22
Most of us eat too much salt, on average more than 20 times what the body needs.
It is true that all the salt we need is contained in nearly every type of food we eat.
Too much sodium in the body interferes with the fluid balance and because salt retains up to 70 times its weight in water, it causes fluid retention in the body which results in cellulite.
As with all dietary changes, reducing salt intake should be done gradually because you will be less likely to notice the difference and more likely to adapt if you cut down little by little.
Before you know it you will be down to a fraction of the amount you once used.
These are some tips to help you to cut down on salt and help you reduce cellulite:
  • Avoid commercially prepared foods such as processed and foods canned in brine;
  • Cook from scratch as much as possible so that you can control the amount of salt that gets into your food;
  • Do not add salt when cooking.
    If you must, add some afterward;
  • Consider switching to 'Lo Salt' which is available in supermarkets;
  • Explore using a wide range of herbs and spice to enhance the flavor of foods.
    A squeeze of lemon or lime juice will perk up the flavor of a meal.
    Avoid seasonings such as garlic salt, celery salt, onion salt and stock cubes.
  • Rinse canned foods such as kidney beans, water packed tuna and chick peas under running water to get rid of the added salt;
  • Avoid salty snacks such as potato chips and pop corn.
    These contain loads of sodium and many added chemicals which are harmful toxins to the body.
Remember where sodium goes, water follows.
Too much salt in the body causes water retention and accentuates cellulite.
To reduce cellulite, maintain a healthy body by drinking plenty water and reducing your salt intake.
