Easter presents for children don't always have to be chocolate flavored and full of sugar. Get creative and put some gifts in their Easter basket that they will be able to enjoy long past the holiday. There are many options to choose from and you don't have to stick with an Easter theme, just consider each child's invididual interests when deciding on presents. - Check your local bookstore for a selection of Easter-themed books for children. For older children, pick up the latest in a series they are currently enjoying or a new book by a beloved writer. A monogrammed Bible is a lovely gift for a child, and toddlers and preschoolers would enjoy a coloring book with an Easter theme. Books last forever and can be enjoyed over and over, making a very practical gift.
- Creative kids will love a basket with an arts and crafts theme. Include new markers, crayons, washable paints or modeling clay along with some drawing paper and goodies like pipe cleaners, craft sticks, pom poms and glue sticks for lots of creative play. Crayons for the bathtub are another interesting idea that kids love playing with, and the cleanup is a cinch.
- Easter season presents a wide choice of stuffed toys to give as gifts. Kids will enjoy a big plush bunny rabbit, some furry chicks or even plush Easter eggs. Lambs and ducks are popular this time of year as well.
- Buy some themed plastic eggs or decorate plain ones with stickers. Fill them with small treats for kids such as stickers, jewelry, money or small erasers. Little girls would love eggs filled with ponytail holders and lip gloss, and boys may like to find a race car or temporary tattoo inside theirs.
