How to Make a Circular Accordion Fan
- 1). Draw an illustration on a sheet of printer paper while it sits in a horizontal position. The paper sits in a horizontal orientation after you finish the project. Drawing on the paper in the same orientation ensures the illustrations do not appear backwards or upside-down when you complete the project.
- 2). Create an accordion style fold in the printer paper by starting on one of the ends and folding a 1-inch crease and alternating the direction of the crease. Continue this until you have created multiple folds that extend across the paper.
- 3). Fold the paper so it's completely contracted. Take a piece of tape and wrap the bottom of the paper several times, starting from the very base of the paper. After you apply the tape and you let go of the paper, the top fans out while the bottom stays in a contracted and secure position.
- 4). Fold the paper again so as to completely contract it. Next, apply a small amount of white craft glue to one side of a craft stick and attach to one side of the paper. Glue the stick directly above the taped portion at the bottom. Allow the glue to dry for several minutes.
- 5). Glue another craft stick to the other side of the paper, directly above the taped portion at the bottom. Again, allow the glue to dry. Use the craft sticks to expand the fan. When completely expanded, the fan creates a circular shape with the protruding part of the craft sticks serving as a handle to hold the fan.
